Justine Thorpe
Justine's paintings express her evident delight in luscious oil colour. Energetically applied, by brush, oil pastels and palette knife, layers of colour are built up then scraped back and manipulated, to create textured, lively surfaces. The finished paintings part bold sketch, part areas of deliciously soft diffused colour, convey a distinctive quality, both mobile and strong.
