Susie Hall
Susie Hall comes from a rural background. Having been brought up on a farm, her themes and influences are drawn from nature.

Her Apples and Pears started out at life size. To make them more dramatic, the size increased until the largest apples are now approximately 10" high and 31" circumference.

Using various techniques, most of her work is made of either hand built or poured earthenware clay. She has a fondness for piercing the forms for both decoration and lighting effects. Contrasting matt with gloss glaze, is an important feature of her work.

Susie's imaginary birds, fish and relief pictures, reflecting her love of gardens and orchards, have gathered a considerable following in the UK and Germany. A Collection of Susie's ceramics is to be found on display at the Willis Museum in Basingstoke.
